Merging

Some articles may need to be merged to form a single article with sub-sections. Examples are:

These would all be placed on a single page but with redirect pages set to point to the relevant sub-section. For example

Steering lines would redirect to Control lines#Steering lines

See: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mergism for some discussion

Kite Templates

I think that for consistency, we need a template for each kite's entry. Here's a starting point:

  • Simple summary with picture
  • Type (Fixed Bridle, Depower Foil, Twinskin, LEI, other)
  • Years of production (e.g. 1972 -> Present)
  • Sizes produced
  • Main uses (Kids, Static, Jumping, Buggying, Buggy Freestyle, Buggy Jumping, Buggy Racing, Boarding, Board Freestyle, Kitesurfing etc)
  • Detailed description, more pics as neccessary
  • Variants (e.g. for Sabre 1 and 2, have them both under one entry, with a section to describe differences
  • User Review 1
  • User Review 2
  • User Review 3
  • Reference to where the latest template can be found for new entries

Any suggestions?

Pictures

Submitted pictures need to be clear and descriptive and not too large. I have tried to limit pictures to between 50K and 100K, and have sized them to be about 400 pixels wide and 300 pixels high to keep the site looking consistent, though there will be exceptions to this rule.
