A helmet is considered an essential item of Safety equipment when power kiting.

There are two main types of helmet to choose from:

Full Face

Full face helmets do exactly that, cover your whole face. These are more commonly worn by buggiers as if their buggy was to turn over it would pull them along on their face. Not nice! Open Face

Skate board helmets cover just the top of your head, and are worn by most people. I recommend using skate boarding helmets over cycling helmets as they protect your head a bit more. A good provider of these helmets is listed below;
