Depowerable
From KiteWiki
Depowerable kites give you the option to use them in a wider wind range by changing the angle that the kite sits in the wind. The system works by having a control bar that can move freely up and down a depower rope. As the back lines are attached to the ends of the bar, when the bar is pushed away from you, the trailing edge of the kite rises to the same level as the leading edge. This flatter profile means the wind can travel straight over the wing without creating much lift. By pulling the bar toward you, the rear lines pull down on the trailing edge of the kite, this puts more angle on the kite, more wind hits the underside of the kite, and more lift is created.
