Depower rope

The depower rope is a thick length of rope or cord that goes between the chicken loop and trim strap in a depower control bar set up.

It goes through a hole in the depower bar so that the bar can freely travel up and down it, and usually carries the kite's power to the chicken loop which then attaches to your harness.

Since the depower rope goes through the hole in the bar, rubbing against it a lot of the time when in use, it can wear out quite quickly and need replacement, especially if not rinsed to remove sand after each session.
